About The Kings Arms
Before the Victorian age pubs used to have flag-stoned floors and whitewashed walls. The Kings Arms is a fresh take on this concept, whitewashed walls, fantastic art, simple, light, airy and with beautiful sea views.
We offer Voyager coffee, local ales and drinks all day and modern food, full of flavour & spice in plentiful servings. Spice is nice and Steve Thomas is one of those chefs that knows how to cook food with spice and understands flavour. He’s also got the know-how to do an awesome Sunday lunch.
WE are Mark, Kat, (plus Thomas and Ed – our children) Steve our brilliant Chef and Barabara and Francisco who help out constantly.
Kat Lightfoot is the one who creates the stunning paintings that adorn our walls, does style and has been painting non-stop since she was a child. Having been brought up in another Kings Arms (in Salcombe) pubs are in her nature..
Mark and Kat previously ran the Lamb Inn at Sandford in mid-Devon and won multiple awards including best pub in Devon from food & drink Devon twice, Taste of the West Dining pub of the Year and best of all Alastair Sawdays runner-up Best Pub in Britain.
We are hoping to offer superb modern food that is really tasty, affordable and ethical. We are obsessed with the sustainability, welfare and the future. All of our fish is MSC certified, all of our meat is free-range, everything except bread and puddings are made at home from scratch.
We will be installing a fast electric car charger in our car park to encourage electric vehicles.
We hope you will visit and love what we are doing.
Mark, Kat and the team.
